Markus first discovered yoga in 2005, while looking for a fitness complement to intense outdoor activities such as running, rock climbing, and mountaineering. He was simply amazed by the multitude of health benefits and the better mind/body awareness that a regular yoga practice would bring in every moment, and circumstance.
He started on the yoga path by exploring Sivananda, Power and Hot Yoga that he practiced for a couple of years. At some point he decided to deepen his practice and discovered the magic of Ashtanga and Yin Yoga.
In early 2009, he completed a 200 hours yoga teacher training with David Jewitt and Anne Pitman, immediately followed by a Yin Yoga intensive with Marla Ericksen. Earlier in 2010 Markus had the great privilege to complete an intensive Ashtanga Teacher Training with David Swenson.
Markus always brings enthusiasm and humor in his classes, and when possible, likes adding a hint of vigorous yet meditative flow in his teaching.
